Why does the CVBA exist?

The Concho Valley Baptist Association exists because it follows the biblical model God gives us. The Church is referred to as:

  • …the Bride of Christ, this implies partnership;
  • …His Army, this implies a need for others to accomplish an assigned task;
  • …His Family, this implies the necessity of relationships;
  • …His Body, this implies the need for cooperation.

Life is a family/team experience. The stronger your family/team, the more you can accomplish. As Solomon once wrote: And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him– a threefold cord is not quickly broken. (Ecc 4:12 ESV)

Over 40 Southern Baptist churches and missions have joined together to make their voices stronger and their efforts more powerful and effective in building God’s Kingdom in the Concho Valley and around the world. (Matthew 6:33)

What churches are part of the CVBA?

Currently we have 42 churches partnering with each other from Carlsbad, Christoval, Eldorado, Eola, Grape Creek, Mertzon, Ozona, Robert Lee, San Angelo, Sonora, Sterling City and Water Valley.

African-American, Anglo, Hispanic and a Korean churches have joined together for mutual support and ministry.
