Equipping Conference for Rural Churches
WHAT PARTNERING TOGETHER LOOKS LIKE:
Hosting an Equipping Conference for Rural Churches

The CVBA partnered with FBC Sonora in hosting an Equipping Conference for Rural Churches on Sunday afternoon, August 27.

Scott Whitson, Executive Director of the Southwest Metroplex Baptist Association, brought a powerful challenge from Joshua 3 on how to see a great movement from God in our lives and in our churches:
1.Consecrate ourselves
2.Expect God to do great things
3.Obey and stand firm

There were about 130 attendees from 10 different churches in 6 different counties. Sessions were led by leaders from all over the state and included sessions for pastors, children’s and youth ministers, pastors’ wives, deacons, ministry assistants, and lay leaders. There were 25 who attended the Spanish speaking sessions led by David Vela, our Texas Baptist area representative.

"CVBA’s Rural Church Equipping Conference was amazing. We had twice as many people and
church participation than anticipated. There was beautiful fellowship. We experienced incredible
insight rooted in the Word. Above all, we were equipped, challenged and trained to maximize
our witness in each one of our rural contexts.
I am truly thankful the CVBA cares about the rural church."
