This month is our Executive Board meeting. The meeting is Tuesday, April 23 at Segunda Iglesia Bautista, 530 W Ave T in San Angelo. We will start serving the meal at 11:30am with the business meeting starting at noon. If you are able, we are asking for a $5 donation to help reimburse the church for the meal. I urge you to make plans to attend this Executive Board meeting. We will be voting on an upcoming event, REACH OUT 2020!, plus we will hear reports concerning the Dove Creek property and Primera Baptist Church Sonora.
The Board meeting was originally scheduled for Thursday, August 25, but Goodfellow Air Force Base scheduled their Clergy Appreciation Day for that same date. It is the only date many of the GAFB leaders were available. This is the third time they have had such an event, and it is well worth your time. This year there will be a demonstration by the fire fighters. A tidbit of information: any fire fighter that works for the Department of Defense has to go through the training at GAFB. See page 3 for an invitation from Lt. Col. Chaplain Bob Borger to attend and information on how to RSVP.
I have mentioned two important events. But this month we celebrate the most vital event in human history. There is no more important event in history than the events of Easter. Nor is there a more challenging event. Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 15 that if Christ is not raised from the dead, we have no hope and are false witnesses. It is easy for the world to agree that Christ was born and died. It is entirely another matter to accept the validity of the resurrection.
The resurrection not only gives Christ-followers hope and strength, but it gives us our greatest challenge – to daily live in the power of the resurrection and to share the meaning of the resurrection with a culture that is growing more anti-Christ with each passing day.
Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. (Heb 12:3 NIV)
Let us lift each other up daily in prayer and exhortation as we strive, not to build our fiefdom, but His Kingdom!
In His Grace and Mercy,
